Sunflower Program

Nashville International Airport® (BNA®) is committed to fostering an inclusive travel experience for all passengers. To further this commitment, BNA has become a proud member of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program. This internationally recognized program allows those with hidden disabilities to discreetly signal their need for additional assistance, patience, or time.

What is the Sunflower Program?

The Sunflower program was created to support people with disabilities that may not be immediately apparent. They can be neurological, cognitive and neurodevelopmental. as well as physical, visual, auditory and include sensory and processing difficulties.

Participation in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program is voluntary. Travelers with hidden disabilities may obtain a complimentary Sunflower lanyard at the Information Center, located on the Ground Transportation Level (Level 1). The Information Center operates daily from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Participants will not be asked to disclose their disability.

The Sunflower lanyard you receive is yours to keep and can be used throughout your travels at BNA and any participating airport or location that recognizes the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program.

While wearing it doesn't prioritize security screening or guarantee special treatment, staff can offer support based on your needs. Passengers requiring additional assistance are still encouraged to make arrangements directly with their airline and/or TSA Cares for support.
