Accessibility Considerations
GoodMaps
BNA® is thrilled to introduce GoodMaps, an innovative indoor navigation platform. As the first airport in Tennessee to adopt this forward-thinking technology, BNA continues to lead the charge in creating a more accessible and inclusive travel experience.
Designed to assist all travelers, GoodMaps is especially transformative for individuals who are blind or have low vision. The app functions like GPS for indoor spaces, offering precise, turn-by-turn directions through audio prompts or visual text.
Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program
At BNA®, creating a welcoming and accessible environment for every traveler is a top priority. As part of this commitment, BNA is a proud participant in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program.
This globally recognized initiative enables individuals with non-visible disabilities to discreetly indicate their need for extra support, time, or understanding—helping airport staff and fellow travelers respond with greater empathy and care.
Wheelchair Assistance
At BNA®, we’re committed to making travel accessible for everyone. Wheelchair assistance is available upon arrival to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience. Passengers may request a wheelchair at their airline’s ticket counter or curbside check-in.
For direct assistance, passengers may also contact our contracted wheelchair service providers:
- ABM: (615) 275-4171
- Prospect: (615) 403-6101
Additionally, our Information Center staff can page ABM or Prospect on your behalf. The center is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and can be reached at (615) 275-2098.
Service Animals
Service animals and pets are welcome inside the terminal. For airline-specific guidelines on traveling with animals, please reach out directly to your carrier.

Escorting a Person With Special Needs
Passengers who require help navigating security checkpoints may request gate passes for their companions directly from their airline.
To ensure a smooth experience—especially when traveling with children—we recommend arranging gate passes at the time of booking.
TSA Cares
The TSA offers support to travelers with disabilities, medical conditions, or other special circumstances that may require additional help during the security screening process.
- Learn more about the TSA Cares Passenger Support Program
- Register Online to Request TSA Cares Assistance
If your flight departs within the next 72 hours and you need help at the security checkpoint, please call TSA Cares at (855) 787-2227.
Please note: TSA Cares assistance is limited to the security screening process. For in-flight support or wheelchair service from curbside to aircraft at BNA®, passengers should contact their airline directly before arriving at the airport.
Autism Tennessee Partnership
In partnership with Autism Tennessee, BNA® provides a specially designed guide to help individuals with autism and other neurodivergent disabilities prepare for their travel experience.
This resource can be reviewed with family members or caregivers to foster comfort and confidence by outlining what to expect at the airport.
Nashville Therapy Pets
Each month—and during special events—the Nashville Therapy Pets visit BNA® to spread joy and ease travel stress. Their presence brings warmth, comfort, and a few tail wags to brighten your journey.
You’ll find these lovable companions strolling through the concourses, happy to offer friendly greetings, soft cuddles, and photo opportunities with passengers of all ages.
Want to meet them? Check the Events Calendar to see when they’ll be back at BNA®.
