Airport Authority Announces Executive Hires

Promotes, Hires Chief Operating Officer, Chief Legal Officer and Chief Financial Officer

NASHVILLE ─ The Metropolitan Airport Authority (MNAA) Board of Commissioners at the November board meeting unanimously approved Interim President and CEO Doug Kreulen’s recommendations to promote Robert Ramsey to Chief Operations Officer and hire Doug Sloan as Chief Legal Officer and Margaret Basrai as Chief Financial Officer.

“Having the right leadership team in place as we move forward with BNA Vision, our growth and expansion plan for Nashville International Airport, is critical to the success of our mission,” said Bobby Joslin, MNAA Board of Commissioners chair. “We have all worked with Robert Ramsey over the years and know he has the skill set and experience needed to be an outstanding Chief Operating Officer. Both Doug Sloan and Margaret Basrai have demonstrated impressive backgrounds and accomplishments, and we look forward to welcoming them both to the Airport Authority.”

Robert Ramsey – Chief Operating Officer
Robert Ramsey joined MNAA in 2006 and most recently served as vice president and Chief Engineer. In this role, Ramsey was responsible for the development and execution of BNA Vision, MNAA’s growth and expansion plan for BNA. He also served eight years in the United States Air Force as an officer in multiple squadron leadership roles. A graduate of the University of Missouri and the Virginia Military Institute, Ramsey is a Professional Engineer (P.E.), an Accredited Airport Executive (AAE) and an International Airport Professional (IAP).

Doug Sloan – Chief Legal Officer
Doug Sloan is a public policy and legal professional with more than 20 years of experience in the public sector. Since 2015, Sloan has served as executive director of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County Planning Department. He previously served as legal counsel in the Office of Flood Recovery under then Mayor Karl Dean and as an attorney in the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County Legal Department for 14 years. Sloan is a graduate of Nashville School of Law and Middle Tennessee State University.

Margaret Basrai – Chief Financial Officer
Margaret Basrai is a highly accomplished senior accounting and financial management executive with 17 years of experience in the aviation industry. Basrai currently service as vice president and controller for Wayne County Airport Authority, which operates Detroit Metropolitan Airport, Willow Run Airport and its airport hotel. A graduate of Michigan State University, she is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives.
