The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) celebrated the 2026 fiscal year (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026), marked by outstanding growth, innovative partnerships, and national recognition for both Nashville International Airport®, also known as BNA®, and John C. Tune Airport®, also known as JWN®.
Some highlights include:
•A record 26.7 million passengers—a 7.7% increase over the previous year and the highest in its history.
• New Single-Record: On Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, BNA welcomed 116,047 total passengers.
• Record-breaking Fall Break: 2,550,000 million passengers traveled through BNA in October 2025, a 10% increase over 2024, supported by 13,804 commercial flights.
• New Milestone in Air Service: BNA celebrated 115 nonstop destinations in June 2026—the most in its history.
•The grand opening of the Concourse D extension, the first project completed under New Horizon.
•The closure of Concourse A: Now under complete demolition and reconstruction, the new concourse—opening July 2028—will feature 16 gates, significantly expanded facilities, new concessions, improved amenities and upgraded passenger spaces including an outdoor terrace and mezzanine level airline lounges.

This closure will take place August 3 -5, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., and August 10-12, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The Concourse D Extension has been recognized with an Award of Merit in the Airport/Transit category by Engineering News-Record as part of ENR’s 2026 Southeast Best Projects. This honor highlights the exceptional collaboration, craftsmanship, and innovation that helped bring this important BNA® expansion to life.

Delivered through a strong partnership with Southwest Airlines, HENSEL PHELPS, Fentress Studios, a Populous Company, and a wide network of dedicated industry professionals, the Concourse D Extension reflects our continued commitment to enhancing the passenger experience and supporting the ongoing growth at BNA®.
The Concourse D Extension was the first project completed under the New Horizon program, marking the beginning of the next phase in development at BNA®, preparing Nashville`s airport for 40 million annual passengers in the next decade.

Last night, the legendary B-29A Superfortress 44-62070 “Fifi”—one of only two airworthy B-29s left in the world—touched down in Nashville. Our team was excited to have the opportunity to live out an aviation dream and get an up-close look at this iconic piece of history.
