Nashville International Airport Sets New Record for Number of Departing Passengers in a Single Day

NASHVILLE ─ On Sunday, May 6, a record-setting 25,795 passengers departed Nashville International Airport (BNA), a new single-day record for BNA, and a 16 percent increase over the comparable Sunday in 2017.

The previous record was set June 12, 2017, with 25,024 departing passengers. This was the Monday following the conclusion of CMA Music Festival and Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.

By the numbers:

  • Sunday, May 6:
    • 25,795 departing passengers, a new single-day record and a 16.56 percent increase from the comparable Sunday in 2017
    • 14,815 bags processed, a single-day record for the calendar year and an 11.75 percent increase from the comparable Sunday in 2017

A typical day at BNA is approximately 19,000 departing passengers.
