Arts at the Airport Hosts Three-Day Concert Series in Partnership with Make Music Nashville

NASHVILLE ─ June 19, 2017 – The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA)’s Arts at the Airport program today kicks off a three-day concert series featuring live musical performances from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 19 and 20, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 21. The series will conclude with a special BNA Kazoo Jam, an event in which all airport guests are encouraged to participate.

This three-day concert series is part of Make Music Nashville, a celebration which takes place annually in various locations throughout Nashville to celebrate music while also providing an equal platform for musicians of all skill levels.

“Our Arts at the Airport program is just one way that Nashville International Airport celebrates the creativity and talent of our city, and we’re thrilled to be a part of this community-wide celebration of music,” said Rob Wigington, MNAA president and CEO. “Make Music Nashville is a perfect way to bring all music enthusiasts together, whether they’re performing or simply enjoying the music.”

Over the course of three days, BNA will host 15 performances on different stages throughout the terminal. The full schedule is as follows:

The BNA Kazoo Jam, hosted by Nashville’s own WannaBeatles rock group, will take place in the newly-opened Concourse C Food Court Stage from 2-4 p.m. on June 21. BNA will provide over 500 kazoos to airport guests so that all can partake in the festivities.

Arts at the Airport

Working closely with the 15-member Arts at the Airport Foundation board, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority showcases the region’s visual and performing arts through its Arts at the Airport program, which receives some funding from the Tennessee Arts Commission. The award-winning Arts at the Airport program reviews and presents works by local, regional and national artists for the enjoyment and enrichment of Nashville International Airport’s and John C. Tune Airport’s passengers and visitors. In addition to visual art, Arts at the Airport includes music since it is an integral part of Nashville. The arts come alive with musical performances on stages throughout BNA’s passenger terminal.

Arts at the Airport, a 501(c)(3) organization, receives funding for the visual arts from the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) and the Tennessee Arts Commission (TAC).
