BNA President and CEO Elected President of TAACA

NASHVILLE – Nashville International Airport (BNA) President and CEO Douglas E. Kreulen was elected president of the Tennessee Association of Air Carrier Airports (TAACA) last week following a vote of member airports.

TAACA is the trade association for the five commercial airports in Tennessee—Nashville International Airport, Memphis International Airport, Knoxville’s McGhee Tyson Airport, Chattanooga Airport, and Tri-Cities Airport. The organization advocates for airport interests and priorities, particularly as they relate to state government, including in both the General Assembly and the Executive Branch.  Kreulen succeeds Patrick Wilson in the role, who is president of the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority.

“The commercial airports of Tennessee generate enormous economic activity for our state, and it’s vital that we work to ensure their continued success,” said Kreulen. “TAACA is a great vehicle to collectively tell the story of Tennessee’s airports to state policy makers, and I’m honored to serve as president.”

Other officers elected by TAACA include Wilson as vice president and Terry Hart, president and CEO of the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority, as treasurer.

Kreulen joined the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority in 2012 and was named president & Chief Executive Officer in December 2017, after previously serving in an interim role. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer, where he oversaw Operations, Facilities Maintenance, Public Safety and Development and Engineering departments for both Nashville International and John C. Tune airports. Before starting his tenure at BNA, Kreulen served four years as director of Operations for Huntsville International Airport.

Prior to joining the commercial aviation sector, Kreulen served in the United States Air Force for 27 years. An Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E), Kreulen is a graduate of National War College with a Master of Science in National Security Strategy, Troy University with a Master of Science in Personnel Management and Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Technology.
