Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority Announces Board Appointment

Long-time Civic Leader and Wells Fargo Nashville Vice President, Christina Smith, confirmed to board

NASHVILLE – June 7,2017 – The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) today announced the appointment of Christina Smith to its Board of Commissioners. First Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors in Nashville, Smith was nominated to the board by Nashville Mayor Megan Barry and confirmed by Metro Council at the June 5 Council Meeting. She fills the board seat previously held by Nicole Maynard.

“Christina Smith brings impressive financial experience and a strong record of community engagement to the MNAA Board of Commissioners,” said Rob Wigington, president and CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority. “We look forward to her contributions to the board as Nashville International Airport embarks upon our major renovation and expansion project.”

Smith joins the MNAA Board of Commissioners as the Industry/Commerce/Finance representative. A long-time civic leader, Smith has been a member of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, the Metro Nashville Public School Education Committee, and served on the board of the Adventure Science Center. She most recently served as Chair of the Metro Parks and Recreation Board and is a founder of the Nashville Parks Foundation.

MNAA Board of Commissioners

A 10-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the mayor of Nashville/Davidson County, and confirmed by the Metropolitan Council, governs the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority. By statute, the board is composed of three business and finance representatives, two pilot representatives, two neighborhood representatives, one engineering representative, one legal representative, and the mayor.
