Nashville International Airport Prepares for Triennial Full-Scale Drill in Compliance with FAA Regulations
The mock emergency scenario entails actual fire, smoke, and explosions to ensure airfield disaster preparedness and response of the airport
Nashville International Airport® (BNA®) will conduct a full-scale emergency drill on Tuesday, March 26, as mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The mock emergency scenario entails actual fire, smoke, and explosions that may be noticeable to the public during the planned simulation. Emergency vehicles, first-responders, and other equipment will be used to simulate an aircraft accident and are not associated with an actual emergency situation.
The emergency drill will involve full activation of BNA’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and coordination among various agencies, including airport personnel, emergency responders, local law enforcement, and medical teams. Additionally, local media will have the opportunity to participate to capture the event on the airfield.
The drill will not impact airport operations.
