Southwest Airlines Announces International Service Nonstop Between Nashville and Cancun
DALLAS—May 18, 2017—Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) today published an extension of its full flight schedule through Jan. 7, 2018, bringing new service on Saturdays to Cancun from both Nashville (BNA) and St. Louis (STL) beginning Nov. 11, 2017. All nonstop service is subject to requisite governmental approvals.
Beginning Nov. 11, 2017, fly nonstop on Saturdays between Cancun and Nashville for as low as $149 one-way.
Nashville travelers also gain new, daily nonstop service to Milwaukee (MKE) Mitchell International Airport beginning Nov. 5, 2017, with fares as low as $49 each-way.

Business and civic leaders gathered at Nashville International Airport today to celebrate the addition of nonstop international service. “Our position as hometown carrier both here in Nashville and in St. Louis with more than a 100 flights a day this summer from both airports makes this weekly shortcut to Cancun a natural addition for our loyal Customers to hit another popular beach destination,” said Dave Harvey, who oversees International Planning as Southwest Airlines’ Managing Director of Business Development. “At the same time, we’re adding daily service in our established gateway in Fort Lauderdale, as we recently have done in our four international gateway cities in California, all as part of a larger effort to bring meaningful international service to Customers who have made us America’s largest carrier.” [1]

International service is offered contingent upon requisite governmental approvals and may be purchased May 18-22, 2017, 11:59 p.m. CDT. Domestic travel is valid Nov. 6, 2017 through Jan. 7, 2018, excluding Fridays and Sundays. International travel is valid Nov. 11, 2017, through Jan. 7, 2018 for new nonstop weekly service from both Nashville and St. Louis, which operates only on Saturdays. Domestic travel is blacked out Nov. 18-27, Dec. 21-23 & Dec. 28, 2017 through Jan. 1, 2018. Sale fares to international destinations are blacked out Nov. 18, Dec. 16 & Dec. 21-27, 2017; sale fares from international destinations are blacked out Nov. 25-26 & Dec. 29, 2017 through Jan. 03, 2018.
