Spirit Airlines Adds Four New Nashville Flights and Begins International Service from Music City

MIRAMAR, Fla., Feb. 27, 2020 – ­­Nashville, your Spring Break is planned! Today, Spirit Airlines (NYSE: SAVE) started nonstop service from Nashville (BNA) to Cancun (CUN), the airline’s first nonstop international destination from Music City. America’s fastest-growing airline will bring Nashville closer to breathtaking beaches three times a week, with nonstop flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Spirit is growing again, just months after launching service to the Nashville. Convenient nonstop service to Los Angeles (LAX), Newark/New York (EWR) and Austin (AUS) will arrive in March 2020.

The airline started service from Nashville International Airport in October 2019, with nonstop flights to the Baltimore/Washington D.C. Area (BWI), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), New Orleans (MSY), Las Vegas (LAS), and Orlando (MCO).  Spirit added nonstop service to Tampa (TPA) in November. Less than a year after coming to Nashville, Spirit will offer Guests nonstop service to 10 cities in the U.S. and Latin America.

Earlier this month, Spirit announced plans to bring 240 Team Members from its Operational Control Center (OCC) in Miramar to a 49,000-square-foot facility in Williamson County, Tenn. The initial transition should be completed by early 2021, with plans to add nearly 100 more Tennessee-based jobs at the OCC over the next five years.

As Florida’s Hometown Airline, Spirit also recently broke ground on its new $250 million headquarters in Dania Beach, Fla. The new headquarters—which is scheduled to open in 2022—will house 700 of Spirit’s Miramar-based Team Members and will welcome 225 new positions in support of the airline’s growing operations.
