Old Donelson Pike Bridge Removed

You likely have seen one of the latest updates related to the Terminal Access Roadway Improvements (TARI) on your way to Nashville International Airport® (BNA®). The old Donelson Pike bridge has been removed, making room for terminal road improvements that will enable BNA to serve 40 million annual passengers.

The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA), which oversees operations at BNA and John C. Tune Airport® (JWN®), is also remaining in close contact with the Tennessee Department of Transportation as preparations are made to switch drivers to the new Donelson Pike interchange. Under the leadership of MNAA President and CEO Doug Kreulen with support from the MNAA Board of Commissioners, the airport authority agreed to pay up to $6 million in incentives to the contractor if the project is completed a year ahead of schedule, a date it is estimated to meet. With the new alignment in place, BNA will be able to move forward with the next phase of TARI sooner.

The airport, as well as surface parking, will remain accessible following the switch to the new alignment, but the directional signage leading to it will undergo some changes.
