Avail Car-Share Service to Operate at BNA®

Innovative Transportation Option for Travelers Launches Thursday

NASHVILLE – “Peer-to-peer” car-share service Avail will be offering service to and from Nashville International Airport® beginning Thursday, October 29, giving passengers another transportation option in addition to traditional rental cars, other ride-share options, a variety of shuttles and buses, taxi cabs, limousines and courtesy cars. BNA® is the first airport in Tennessee to feature Avail and the 11th in the U.S.

“Avail provides an innovative transportation option for customers,” said Doug Kreulen, president and CEO of Nashville International Airport. “We look to enhance convenience, efficiency and cost-competitiveness in the services offered at BNA, and this new company offers one more example.”

Avail is a relatively new concept and provides an online platform enabling people to share their car with another user for a fee. According to Avail, staff members examine motor vehicle records of drivers, conduct safety inspections and disinfect vehicles with high-grade, multi-purpose cleaners prior to each use. Insurance protection is provided by Allstate. With a drop off/pick-up location near BNA, drivers who choose this transportation option will have convenient access to and from the airport.

“We’re excited to partner with Nashville International Airport to enhance the airport experience with a safe, affordable transportation option for both residents and visitors,” said Avail CEO Mike Osborn. “As the city has grown, so have consumer transportation needs, and Avail offers a convenient alternative to car rental and ride-sharing at a great value.”

With nearly 18.3 million passengers in 2019, Nashville International Airport has been one of the fastest growing airports in North America. According to a recent study, in 2019 alone, BNA generated more than $8.1 billion in total economic impact, supported more than 76,000 jobs in the region and produced more than $443 million in state, local and federal taxes. BNA receives no local tax dollars. For more information, visit flynashville.com. Follow us on Facebook: @NashvilleInternationalAirport, Twitter: @Fly_Nashville and Instagram: @FlyNashville.
