Check the Status of Your Flight
Passengers are advised to confirm their flight status directly with their airline for the latest updates.
Each airline is responsible for its own operations, from scheduling to customer care.
Pack Smart
Familiarize yourself with TSA's Top Travel Tips for a more efficient travel experience.
Knowing what you can pack in your carry-on or checked bag — and how to prepare for security screening — can help you move through the checkpoint faster and with less stress.
Arrive Early
Arriving early allows travelers ample time to park, check in, and reach their gate without the stress of rushing. It also provides the opportunity to explore BNA's award-winning concessions, which highlight the spirit of Music City through local flavors, live music and Nashville-themed shops.
It’s a chance to experience the city’s vibrant culture before your flight takes off!
Allow Extra Time for Parking
Heavier passenger volume means more people are parking and those areas will be busy. BNA has six parking options to choose from. To meet growing demand, additional parking is now available in Lot B, which was recently expanded to add hundreds of parking spaces for passengers.
If parking in valet, passengers coming from I-40 will only be able to access this area from Exit 216B.
Utilize the Cell Lot
To help reduce traffic congestion, drivers picking up passengers are encouraged to wait in BNA’s cell phone lot at 1415 Murfreesboro Pike. The new lot provides ample space and features digital signage with real-time flight updates.
The distance from the Cell Lot to BNA is approximately 3 miles. For reference, Terminal Drive — the roadway that circles the airport — is one mile long. Drivers who continuously loop Terminal Drive cover that distance and more while adding to congestion around the terminal.
Know Your Routes
Nashville’s growth means more more passengers arriving and departing from the airport. It's important to know all your routes to BNA: The most direct option is I‑40 Eastbound at Exit 216A, but you have alternatives that can save time when congestion builds. Donelson Pike (Exit 216B) is accessible from both directions on I‑40 and often serves as a reliable backup.
If you’re coming from downtown Nashville and notice I‑40 Eastbound slowing down, take Exit 215A onto Briley Parkway South. From there, follow Murfreesboro Pike eastbound until you reach Donelson Pike, then head north to the airport. This route can bypass major backups and keep you moving.
Travelers from Antioch have options too: you can take Harding Place directly to Donelson Pike and continue northbound to BNA. Alternatively, head west/northwest on I-24 to Briley Parkway (Exit 54), connect to Murfreesboro Pike, then follow it to Donelson Pike and continue northbound straight to the airport.
By knowing these alternate routes ahead of time, you’ll be ready to adjust quickly if traffic conditions change, giving yourself a smoother, less stressful trip to the airport.
Turn on GPS
Even if you’re familiar with the route to BNA, using GPS can save you time. Modern navigation apps do far more than just guide you from point A to point B—they’re constantly scanning traffic conditions, construction zones and accidents in real time.
What looks like a smooth drive when you leave home can quickly turn into a frustrating backup and GPS gives you the advantage of rerouting before you’re stuck. It can also alert you to speed changes, lane closures, or even the fastest way to get through airport access roads. Think of it as a travel partner that’s always one step ahead, helping you avoid surprises and giving you peace of mind.
By relying on GPS, you protect your schedule, reduce stress and make sure your trip to the airport starts off on the right foot.
