To facilitate the Central Core Enhancement at Nashville International Airport®, also known as BNA®, that will begin June 1, “The Unscalable Rampart of Time,” the art installation in the Central Core atrium by artist Jacob Hashimoto, will be removed and stored during construction. This will require temporary overnight closures of the Pedestrian Bridge on Level 5 this week.
Between 8 p.m. and 3:30 a.m. April 6 to April 10, passenger access between the terminal and garages will be on Level 1 while the Pedestrian Bridge is closed to ensure the safety of passengers. Signage will be in place to direct passengers to alternate elevators and escalators.
The removal of the art will continue through April, but the closure of the Pedestrian Bridge will not be necessary for the subsequent phases. Working with the artist, the piece will be adapted to fit the new space and reinstalled when the project is complete in December 2027.
The Central Core Enhancement is part of New Horizon, BNA’s current growth and expansion program that will help enable BNA to support 40 million annual passengers in the future. For more information about the Central Core Enhancement, visit https://flynashville.com/centralcore.
