INTERNAL FIRE SPRINKLER INSPECTION PROJECT NO. 26-032
ELECTRONIC PROPOSALS for furnishing all materials, labor, tools and appurtenances for completion of this project shall be received by the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, (MNAA) Nashville, Tennessee, until and not later than 2:00 P.M. CST (local time) on May 28, 2026 Proposers wishing to submit a non-electronic proposal may do so only after receiving written authorization from MNAA. Written authorization to submit a non-electronic proposal may be requested by emailing purchasing@flynashville.com at least five (5) days prior to the date proposals are due. Proposers submitting a non-electronic proposal must submit a copy of the written authorization with their proposal package.
- SCOPE OF SERVICES
Scope of Work and Requirements
Testing will be observed by MNAA’s insurance representative and MNAA personnel. Contractors are expected to assign consistent technicians who become familiar with MNAA systems and security requirements. MNAA further expects that contractor’s technical staff will be trained and knowledgeable on fire suppression systems.
All tools and equipment must be provided by the contractor, this equipment includes but is not limited to buckets for the draining of the system, ladders.
Daily: The contractor must sign in with Maintenance Control Dispatch at 815 Hangar Lane. Prior to any system testing a red tag must be requested from Maintenance Control Dispatch at the start of testing and confirm completion with Maintenance Control at the end of testing. The system name must be identified in each of the red tag permits. At no time is the contractor allowed to shut down a fire system without notification to MNAA. MNAA anticipates that testing will begin with dry systems.
Minimum number of badged employees onsite to complete testing will be 3 employees. Company or individual inspector must hold fire system inspection certification.
Not all systems that will be tested are located within the terminal area or airport building. There are outlying buildings that will also be tested, these systems are included in the system totals listed below.
Contractor shall inspect and test systems to ensure the proper, efficient, reliable, and safe performance of all equipment. Work shall be in accordance with using the appropriate edition of NFPA codes, local codes, equipment manufactures’ recommendations, and the specifications herein. Any federal or municipal codes, rules or regulations shall prevail over other specifications listed herein. If there is a discrepancy between the local regulations and NFPA, the contractor will provide documentation to MNAA in writing and corrective action. Contractor/Inspector will record times and pressures per system and turn over to MNAA for reporting.
The contractor will submit a report of findings that include discrepancies or deficiencies in the testing of the systems. The standard form for FM Global will be accepted to meet this requirement or per NFPA.
The contractor shall be responsible for any damage caused during inspection at their own cost.
Internal Inspection:
- 54 Wet Systems
- 118 Dry and Pre-action Systems
- 17 FDCs Perform hydrostatic testing of
- 8 Backflow Preventors- perform internal inspections
An assessment of the internal condition of piping shall be conducted at a minimum of every 5 years or in accordance with 14.2.1.2 – NFPA
**ALL DRY SYSTEMS AND 50% OF WET SYSTEMS TO BE INTERNALLY INSPECTED**
- All gauges to be replaced at this time (included in this price) for the 54 west systems and 118 dry systems
- Gauges shall be replaced every 5 years or tested every 5 years by comparison with a calibrated gauge
- Inspecting for the presence of foreign organic and inorganic material
- Piping from fire department connection to fire department connection check valve has been hydrostatically tested at 150 psi (10 bar) for at least 2 hours
- Has the five years internal inspection been performed on backflow assembly components to verify that all components operate correctly, move freely, and are in good condition
- Backflow prevention assemblies shall be inspected internally every 5 years to verify that all components operate correctly, move freely, and are in good condition
Per NFPA 14.2.2.2 If organic and/or inorganic materials are found in any system in a building, all systems shall be assessed
- Contractor should provide a price on a separate line item, should the whole system need to be assessed
Work Schedule: Contractor should assume that testing will be completed during normal business hours (7am- 3:30pm Monday through Friday.) Some scheduling of testing will be dependent on insurance inspector’s availability, tenant availability, and MNAA availability.
License Requirements: Must be licensed to do business within the state of Tennessee and licensed to work on Fire Protection Sprinkler Systems and hold a current Contractors License.

THE RFP DOCUMENTS. Copies of the Contract Documents (RFP, Proposal Schedule, Attachments, etc.) will be available on or after Wednesday , April 16, 2026 and may be obtained electronically from B2GNow E-Bidding an online tendering service.
ELECTRONIC PROPOSALS for will be submitted through this online platform, B2GNow E-Bidding.

Submission Instructions: Proposers will be required to register with the e-bidding platform prior to downloading the proposal. Registration is free. The Proposer must scan all required proposal documents, including the Prime/Subcontractor License Information (if applicable) and upload to the appropriate solicitation file on the e-bidding system. Please note that your organization must have an Authorized Signer to sign the proposal documents, the authorized signer has the authority to bind your company to each and every term, condition, article and obligation of the Insert and any resultant Contract.
Proposers are advised to review the RFP Documents carefully prior to submitting a Proposal on the Project. Proposers are also advised to review the RFP and Instructions to Proposers carefully prior to preparing their Proposals.
Proposals must be submitted on the Proposal Form included in the RFP Documents and the successful Proposer will be required to execute the Contract and other documents requiring execution that are included in the Contract Documents.
PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE. A Pre-Proposal Conference will be held at 10:00 A.M. CST Monday, April 27, 2026, in the Nashville Conference room at the Administration Building on Fifth Floor at 140 BNA Park Drive, Ste 520 , Nashville, Tennessee. Attendance at this meeting is non-mandatory.

Proposer is advised that MNAA reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals submitted, to waive any and all informalities, irregularities and/or technicalities in any Proposal or Proposal Guaranty, to accept any Proposal deemed advantageous to it and to negotiate changes, deletions, or additions to these Contract Documents with the successful Proposer.
