Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority Expands Executive Leadership Team

Nashville, Tenn. (July 7, 2025) – The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) today announced key leadership promotions across its executive team, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to operational excellence, strategic growth, and innovation as Nashville International Airport® (BNA®) enters a transformative phase of expansion and modernization.

The following senior leaders have been promoted to Executive Vice Presidents within their respective roles:

  • Adam Floyd, formerly Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Since joining MNAA in 2019, Adam Floyd has played a vital role in MNAA’s success. Demonstrating his talent and leadership, he has progressed through several positions, with his latest achievement from Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Before joining MNAA, Floyd served 21 years in the United States Coast Guard, leading law enforcement, intelligence, and search and rescue operations. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Intelligence Studies from American Military University, a master’s degree in executive leadership from Liberty University and is a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

 

  • Eric Johnson, formerly Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer

Eric Johnson joined MNAA in March 2024, bringing over 30 years of aviation industry experience after serving with the Metropolitan Airports Commission at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). Johnson oversees Concessions, Advertising, Real Estate and Property Management. Additionally, he manages lease compliance for BNA’s new on-site Hilton hotel. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where he obtained a degree in Business Administration. He furthered his education in Real Estate Development at the University of St. Thomas and Economic Development at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Additionally, he has earned numerous certifications from the Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA), is a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and pursued further education in Executive Presence at the University of Minnesota.

 

  • John Cooper, formerly Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer

John Cooper joined MNAA in July 2024, bringing more than 30 years of experience in human resources (HR) and human capital management. A retired U.S. Army Colonel, he is widely recognized as a subject matter expert (SME) in the full HR lifecycle, organizational development, and career planning. Prior to MNAA, he served as a senior foreign nation advisor on Human Resources and Intelligence security matters. He also served as director of HR and recruiting for a government contractor, managing comprehensive HR support for sensitive positions requiring top-secret/sensitive compartmented information (TS/SCI) clearances at the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of State (DoS). Cooper began his military career in tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR).  He is an alum of University of Tennessee at Martin. He holds a master's in strategic studies (MSS) from the Air War College, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from George Mason University and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
