Terminal Garage 1 Exit to Close Sept. 23 as Work Advances on New Rental Car Facility and Parking Garage
Beginning Sept. 23, 2026, the exit from Terminal Garage 1 (TG1) will close, while the entrance will remain open. Drivers will continue entering TG1 through the existing plaza but will exit through Terminal Garage 2 (TG2), which connects to TG1 on Levels 2–6.
This activity supports construction for the new, larger rental car facility and parking garage under New Horizon, our $3 billion growth and expansion program.
These adjustments will help prepare for future roadway improvements and reflect strategic investments aimed at enhancing efficiency, convenience, and the overall customer experience.
How travelers will exit TG1
- Follow wayfinding signs through the updated traffic pattern, which will direct you to TG2. TG2 connects to all TG1 parking levels (Levels 2–6).
- Continue following exit signage and take the helix down to Level P2.
- Pay for parking as normal. TG1 parking tickets will also be accepted at TG2 exit lanes.
Parking Availability
Parking capacity is not changing. TG1 will continue to offer 4,366 covered spaces, and TG2 will continue to offer 2,160 covered spaces.
All parking levels will remain accessible, and travelers can still move between TG1 and TG2 using the garage access points on Levels 2–6.
About the New Rental Car Facility
These roadway changes mark a first major milestone toward building the new, larger rental car facility and parking garage. The enhanced complex will accommodate 4,700 vehicles (including 3,500 ready‑return stalls and 1,200 staging/storage spaces), significantly expanding capacity and improving customer experience.
Facility highlights include:
- Six stories and 3.5 million square feet
- A new parking garage with 3,000 spaces
These improvements support long-term operational efficiency and the continued growth of BNA.
Stay tuned for additional roadway changes that will be implemented this fall.
