It is with sincere regret that we announce the cancellation of this year’s BNA® 5K on the Runway due to forecasted severe weather.
Throughout the week, our team has been closely monitoring conditions with the support of a meteorologist we secured to provide daily updates specific to the runway area. While we are always prepared to race in the rain (as in our prior races), the predicted weather for Saturday includes sustained winds exceeding 20 mph and the high probability of lightning—posing serious safety risks for participants, volunteers, and staff. As you know, safety is our highest priority, and in this case, we must act out of an abundance of caution.
In addition to safety concerns, these conditions would prevent us from delivering the high-quality experience you’ve come to expect from the BNA 5K—an event that reflects our brand and our heartfelt commitment to this community.
While we are disappointed that this year’s race cannot be rescheduled, we are offering you the following options:
- Donate 100% of your registration fee to our 2025 beneficiaries: Musicians On Call, Nashville State Community College, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
- Participate in a virtual run and receive this year’s official BNA 5K medal and t-shirt. Run or walk 5K at your convenience, and we’ll celebrate your accomplishment online—don’t forget to tag us!
- Request a refund of your registration fee.
Please take a moment to complete the questionnaire to let us know how you’d like to proceed.
If we do not receive your response by Saturday, May 10, we will automatically process a refund. Kindly allow up to 4 weeks for refunds to be issued.
We appreciate your understanding and continued support. We hope to see you at the next BNA® 5K on the Runway, with early conversations already underway for a 2027 event.
Thank you,
The BNA® 5K Team
