Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority Advances Leadership to Support Expanding Air Service Network at Nashville International Airport®

Three key promotions support the Authority’s next phase of development, from air service expansion to operational readiness and long‑term planning

Nashville, Tenn. (June 25, 2026) — The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) today announced the promotions of Josh Powell to senior vice president, chief strategy officer (CSO); Kristen Deuben to senior vice president, deputy chief financial officer (CFO); and Adam Bouchard to senior vice president, deputy chief operating officer (COO). These advancements reinforce MNAA’s commitment to developing a strong internal leadership team to guide the evolving needs of Nashville International Airport®, also known as BNA®, and John C. Tune Airport®, also known as JWN®.

Outlined below are the professional backgrounds of the individuals.

Josh Powell, formerly Vice President, Strategy, Airline & Government Relations has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer

Since joining MNAA in April 2008, Josh Powell has grown into a pivotal leader and now serves as senior vice president, chief strategy officer (CSO). The CSO is responsible for driving the strategic direction of the organization, leading the airport’s Airline Affairs team, and overseeing all Air Service Development efforts. He also supports our award-winning Corporate Communications and Marketing Department and Internal Audit experts. Additionally, the CSO serves as MNAA’s liaison for local and state government relations.

Since beginning his career at MNAA 18 years ago, Powell has recruited nearly a dozen new airlines and increased the number of nonstop destinations from 53 to a record 115 as of June 2026. This includes the highest number of international routes in the airport’s history, with additional growth planned.

Powell, a Middle Tennessee native, earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace administration from Middle Tennessee State University and holds the Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) designation from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

 

Kristen Deuben, formerly Vice President, Finance has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Deputy Chief Financial Officer
Since joining MNAA in June 2018, Kristen Deuben has been instrumental in our efforts to raise the capital necessary to support our growth. As senior vice president, deputy chief financial officer (CFO) her expanded role will include leading the Finance Department’s budgeting and accounting functions as well as overseeing Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Risk Management, Treasury and Procurement.

Deuben has 16 years of accounting and financial management experience in the aviation industry. Before joining MNAA in 2018, she served as assistant controller for the Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA), which operates Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), Willow Run Airport (YIP) and its airport hotel.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Detroit Mercy and is a certified public accountant (CPA) as well as a Certified Member (C.M.) through the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

 

Adam Bouchard, formerly Vice President, Operations & Facilities has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Deputy Chief Operating Officer
Adam Bouchard has been promoted to senior vice president and deputy chief operating officer (COO). In this role, he will play a central part in overseeing the authority’s airside, landside, and terminal operations, as well as guest services, safety, parking, and facilities functions across the organization.

Bouchard brings 19 years of extensive experience in airport operations and management. Before joining MNAA in March 2024, he served as vice president of operations at Tampa International Airport (TPA) and held several leadership roles with the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (HCAA) for nearly a decade.

He began his aviation career at BNA as a ramp agent for American Eagle Airlines and later held leadership roles with American Airlines.

Bouchard holds a bachelor’s degree in aviation business administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a master’s degree from Penn State University. He serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council (DAC) for the College of Business at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide (ERAU-WW).

He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS) of the United Kingdom and a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
