New Interactive Art Exhibit Lands at Nashville International Airport®
Impactful installation is in partnership with CreatiVets organization whose mission is to empower wounded veterans
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 8, 2023) – Nashville International Airport® (BNA®) announces the installation of the newest exhibit at BNA, “From War to Words: A Visual Voices Portrait Series by Jason Myers,” a project by the CreatiVets organization, whose mission is to empower wounded veterans to heal through art and music. The exhibit is pre-security near the A/B Concourse exit in the Tennessee Tribune lounge space.
This striking exhibit has a unique, interactive feature. Viewers can scan a QR code associated with each piece in the exhibit and listen to the songs using a smartphone. The photos are by Jason Myers, and accompanying song lyrics are written by veterans. The exhibit, which is open now through June 30, 2023, is a part of BNA’s Arts at the Airport program.
Created in 1988, BNA’s Arts at the Airport is an ever-growing, ever-changing showcase of cultural diversity and creative talent in Tennessee. The terminal and surrounding facilities were designed to incorporate rotating public art exhibits and permanent acquisitions, and opportunities for live entertainment performances throughout the airport.
Founded in 2013, CreatiVets has directly helped more than 1,000 veterans from 49 different states through their art and music programming. CreatiVets began releasing music written by veterans through their songwriting program to reach veterans in their homes.
