Nashville International Airport Announces Nonstop Service to San Francisco

United Airlines adds daily nonstop service to San Francisco International Airport

NASHVILLE ─ Nashville International Airport (BNA) today announced new nonstop service to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) on United Airlines, making it Nashville’s only nonstop flight to the Golden Gate City.

United Airlines will begin daily nonstop service to SFO starting May 5, 2016, with tickets available for purchase beginning today.

“As Nashville grows, air service will continue to be a crucial piece of future economic development opportunities,” said Nashville Mayor Megan Barry. “A direct connection with San Francisco will allow our two cities to strengthen our growing economic ties, particularly in the technology and health care sectors. I’m proud of our world-class airport and its leadership, and announcements such as this underscore our city’s vibrant economy and vitality.”

“We are very excited to announce new service to such an important city,” said Rob Wigington, president and CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA). “San Francisco has been one of our highest priority markets for nonstop service. United’s announcement today is especially exciting as service to San Francisco opens the door to many West Coast and international connections including Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region.”

“United’s new nonstop service between Nashville and our hub in San Francisco will bring many opportunities for convenient West Coast and international travel options for our business and leisure customers,” said Beth Armstrong, Sales Manager for United Airlines in Nashville. “Whether you are spending a romantic weekend in San Francisco or connecting internationally to United’s Asia Pacific network, we want all of our customers traveling from Nashville to know that United is committed to being Nashville’s airline of choice.”

The daily schedule is as follows:

“This announcement validates the hard work of the airport and the great work of many in this city,” said Butch Spyridon, president and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. “The only way we sustain momentum is through expanded access and capacity. United Airlines not only does both of those things but also further strengthens our international marketing efforts in Australia in particular.”

This announcement follows a string of recently announced new nonstop service from Nashville International Airport including Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Seattle, Oakland and Indianapolis.

“This is another great example of how MNAA, working with the Nashville Air Service Coalition comprised of prominent, local Nashville and Middle Tennessee business and civic leaders and our airline partners, can continue to deliver flights that fuel the Nashville region’s economy,” said Rob Wigington.

BNA is currently served by 10 airlines and offers 390 daily flights. Nashville International Airport provides nonstop air service to more than 50 destinations.
