Title VI

The ongoing success of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) is built on the vital support of a wide-ranging network of businesses, vendors, and stakeholders who represent the broader Middle Tennessee community.

At BNA®, we are focused on expanding opportunities and strengthening partnerships that benefit the Middle Tennessee economy. These efforts are led by MNAA’s Office of Small Business Development and remain a central focus of our ongoing programs and activities.

Office of Small Business Development

The Office of Small Business Development at Nashville International Airport® (BNA®) and John C. Tune Airport® (JWN®) oversees a range of programs and services designed to support business participation across airport operations.

The Small Business Program (SBP) offers qualified firms meaningful access to contracting opportunities and related business activities funded by BNA and JWN.

In addition to the SBP, the office facilitates training sessions, hosts industry events, manages certifications, monitors contract performance, and coordinates a mentor/protégé program—along with other initiatives aimed at strengthening local business engagement.

Small Business Program

The impact of MNAA’s Small Business Program (SBP) is clearly demonstrated through their active involvement in key development initiatives, including in our BNA® Vision and New Horizon programs.

New Horizon is the current growth and renovation plan for BNA to meet the unprecedented growth of Nashville and travel needs of passengers.

Concessions Program

BNA’s robust concessions program reflects a commitment to showcasing the unique tastes and spirit of the Nashville region.
The newly expanded program features a variety of local establishments and highlights opportunities for SBPs to participate in delivering services that enhance the traveler experience.

Workforce Training

BNA is an active participant in the Nashville Promise Zone initiative, which aims to create meaningful job opportunities for residents across six federally designated areas. Through partnerships with organizations like the Urban League of Middle Tennessee, Empower the Journey, 4:13 Strong, Goodwill, and others, the airport supports on-site training and employment for Promise Zone workers.

The BNA® Vision projects were fueled by a local workforce, with local participation ranging from 59% to 86% across various phases—underscoring the airport’s commitment to supporting local talent and driving economic growth.

That commitment continues under the New Horizon program. Its first completed project, the Concourse D extension, engaged 715 workers79% of whom were local—and totaled approximately 700,000 man hours of work.

Community Involvement

BNA proudly maintains active membership in a number of civic and business organizations that foster connection, collaboration and advancement across the region.

These include the Nashville Black Chamber of Commerce; Urban League of Tennessee; Tennessee Latin American Chamber of Commerce; Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Nashville LGBT Chamber; and the Airport Minority Advisory Council.

Our Promise

Through its dynamic programs and partnerships, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) continually strengthens its connection to the broader Middle Tennessee community.

By collaborating with local businesses and community organizations, MNAA helps ensure that its programs reflect the values and momentum of Nashville and the greater Middle Tennessee region.
